I had the pleasure of pre-viewing +Douglas Sonders new class, Advertising Photography, for Kelby Training. It gives you a soup to nuts look at what goes into an ad (for a fun product too) from conception to post-production (with retouch artist Justin Paguia). The class just went live today, so head over if you are a KelbyTraining subscriber (http://kelbytraining.com/). If you're not a Kelby Training subscriber, but would like to get a free 24 hour pass just leave a note in the comments and I'll see if I can hook you up. Douglas put together a nice little teaser for the class. Check it out:

I ordered my Lytro months ago, and I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on it. Lytro is looking for a couple of beta testers if you're interested.
Reshared post from +Eric Cheng
I'm looking for one or two professional photographers or extremely-prolific hobbyists who are interested in beta testing a Lytro light field camera (http://lytro.com).Qualifications:
You must…
1) shoot at a very high level. have a fundamental understanding of optics and the technology of imaging.
2) be interested in light field photography and the potential of what light field photography might do to the greater imaging industry.
3) be willing to put in real time testing the product and providing useful feedback.
4) be someone who is really patched into social media and the web. you engage online by posting pictures and participating in online photo communities. you feel a need to engage online, and it is often one of your first instincts when you gave nailed a great shot.
5) not be offended if we don't choose you. we have limited spots for such an opportunity and have already been flooded by requests. i want to reach out to the Google+ audience because I've been so impressed with the photographic community here.
If you're interested, please leave a comment here telling me why you're interested; also, include a link to your work (which doesn't have to be professional in nature—we're also interested in folks who simply take a lot of pictures and post them online!).
– Eric (Lytro's Director of Photography)
Please feel free to share this out to anyone in your networks you think might be interested!
