Rob, Check out 500px, and Flickr with "Death Valley" for the tags and see where others have captured shots that you like. Plan your schedule on being at those spots during the "Magic Hours". Its a huge place and without a plan you might be at the wrong place at the right time. You might check out some of Neil Kremer's recent shots from the Dunes and Badwater to get an idea about those spots.
